Tragedy in Lancaster County, PA
By Aaron Pratt
The details that have been reported in the case of the mother in Lancaster County, PA, who aborted her preborn child are horrific… It is a prime example of Pennsylvania's lack of justice for the preborn.
Please make no mistake about it: abortion is murder, and every preborn child in this nation deserves to be protected by law against murder. The laws that protect you and me should also protect the most vulnerable and defenseless among us. Does this not describe precious preborn children in the womb of their mother? Are they not worthy of protection? If that child is murdered in the womb, does not that precious image bearer of God deserve the same justice that a baby outside of the womb deserves? They most certainly do.
The details reported in the Lancaster County case, as tragic as they are, show the need for immediate justice for the preborn. Equal Justice and equal protection, without exception, is necessary. It is the lack of just laws that allows a mother to decide to murder her child in the womb and to carry the thought out into the actual physical action of murdering them herself or paying someone else to carry out the act of murder. This unjust killing is carried out without penalty and, unfortunately, without justice for the precious image bearer of God, who has been gruesomely murdered in the womb. In some instances, the child is born alive and gazed upon as they cry, gasp for air, and finally die an unjust and terrible death. This act is an example of the pure evil within the heart of mankind, yet it continues to happen in Pennsylvania. Wickedness is on full display when a mother who has chosen to murder her child by ingesting a poisonous pill into her body then decides to take a picture or video of that child, whose early birth has been hastened by their mother's choice to take a pill to murder them.
Why is this allowed? Currently, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania does not have laws in place to protect the preborn from murder through abortion. A mother who terminates the life of her child through abortion does not need to fear the law because she is exempt from any penalty for abortion because of the unjust laws of PA.
A pregnant mother can effectively decide (for virtually any reason) that she does not want her child. She, then, can schedule an appointment at the abortion clinic, travel to that appointment, and 24 hours later willingly offer her body to the abortionist, hired to murder her child, and then willingly allow them to luridly rip the child's limbs from their body, and crush their skull – only to then extract all of the parts of the baby's body and lay them on a tray to ensure that all of the parts of the body have been removed from inside the mother’s womb. After they ensure that not one body part was missed, they carelessly discard the child's battered body into the trash, as if the child has no value (this is not an argument for proper burial, as some argue for -- the argument, instead, is that the murder of preborn children, which brings them to the point of needing a burial, should not be permissible whatsoever).
These described actions are evil, yet it is the reality of the atrocity of abortion in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If the scenario mentioned above is not horrific enough, try to reconcile the fact that the mother of a child can also be the child's abortionist by ingesting a pill to murder her child in the comforts of her own home (or anywhere else), inducing labor and giving birth to her child, only to discard the child through a method of her choosing (toilet, dumpster, trash can – even a back yard shoebox burial). In all cases, without the fear of penalty if she murders the child according to the guidelines of the godless Pennsylvania law for abortion.
From the moment of fertilization, the murder of preborn humans is sinfully wrong. God prohibits it (Ex. 20:13); His standard is enough. It is from our almighty Creator that our freedoms originate, and we should enjoy them; however, does it not follow that prohibitions in place for all mankind should be obeyed? For they (prohibitions), too, originate and are put into place by the same just and righteous Creator of all. God does not suggest or beg that we obey His commands but demands that we do so, and we must follow, for when we do not, we are open to His just wrath and judgment. No level of opinion of law or person matters if it does align with the commands of Scripture.
What the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania needs (as well as the nation at large) is the biblical justice of God effected for preborn human beings. The Pennsylvania State Capitol building is decorated with the Scripture of God's Holy Word throughout. The laws that are put into effect need to reflect the justice that the Bible demands. Along with all acts of willful murder, abortion should be criminalized in PA.
In the sight of God, with abortion being first and foremost sinfully wicked, the folly of sinful mankind arguing against a preborn child being a person is senseless – to argue that the premeditated malicious killing of that preborn child is not murder, at any point and for any reason, is disgusting in God's sight – it reinforces the fact that God has given mankind over to a depraved mind. The fact that we have to argue to convince people that God's preborn image bearers are, in fact, human beings being knitted together in the wombs of their mothers is alarming, especially given the base level of technology and information available today, which highlights God's truth of the humanity of the preborn -- yet, this is where we find ourselves, but we are not without hope.
The Lord Jesus Christ will end abortion (Psalm 110:1; 1 Cor. 15:25). Abortion will be abolished to the glory of God. What Christ demands from His followers is faithfulness in the fight for justice for our preborn neighbors in the womb.
Faithfulness in standing on the sidewalks of abortion mills, pleading with mothers not to move forward with the decision to murder their child – preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to them, and calling them to repentance and faith in the Christ who forgives. Faithfulness is needed to be a witness in the public square, declaring that abortion is murder wherever you are.
Faithfulness is necessary to continually call legislators and lawmakers to submit to the Lordship of Christ and enact laws for preborn children immediately, and to remind them that they were placed in their position of authority to advance God's justice and, should they not, then they are subject to His wrath, for legislators and lawmakers will give an account to God for how they used the office that He placed them in (Rom. 13:3-4).
God honors faithfulness without compromise, and this should be our resolve in the fight against the evil of abortion. Faithlessness and compromise will only lead to continued preborn baby murder in PA.
Back to Lancaster County, PA. What has taken place in this horrific case may not have happened if there were laws in place to deter it, criminalizing the act of abortion and, prohibiting the murder of preborn children in the womb, prosecuting all involved in that murder. If what is reported is true, it would not have been so easy for this mother to carry out the murder of her innocent preborn child. She may have still moved forward with murdering her child if that was the set intent of her sinful heart, lost in darkness; however, when found out, she would be facing the justice of the law, which is, unfortunately, woefully lacking in Pennsylvania -- this is sinful. God's judgment is on this commonwealth because of it.
If what has been reported is true, it shows that the mother, in this case, meticulously planned the execution of the child that she was carrying in the womb (the place where the child should be the most protected). Consider what this mother did. She made an appointment at the murder mill for a consultation to have her child executed, and the abortionist rejected her; she then, however, turned to her backup plan to murder her preborn child (possibly with an accomplice – the preborn child's grandmother) and carried the plan out by becoming the abortionist herself -- taking pills to poison her child, induce labor, give birth and watch the child die. A child who she reportedly described as crying, having "fingernails… lips… a nose," in other words, a human being. This child, as all from the moment of fertilization, was fully human. Unfortunately, he or she was birthed and cruelly ushered to death at the hands of their mother. Based on reports, the mother cried along with her dying child that she decided to mercilessly kill.Â
The reality of abortion in Pennsylvania is that the reported act of murder by the mother in Lancaster County, PA, is not isolated and is practiced daily by other mothers and abortionists within the boundaries of Pennsylvania, with fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, family, and friends as accomplices to murder. In the case of this mother, in Lancaster County, PA, I pray that her eyes are opened to the horror of the murder that she has reportedly committed and that she is driven to repentance of sin, crying out to the only one who can forgive her sin of murder, and save her soul completely, the Lord Jesus Christ. Should she not be granted repentance and faith in Christ, when she is called into eternity, she will bear the full weight of God's justice through His eternal wrath in Hell.Â
I also pray that the hearts of legislators in PA would be pricked and stirred to move toward immediate justice for the preborn, introducing and passing only just and righteous laws in the sight of God—defending the most vulnerable and defenseless among us. The lawmakers within our commonwealth should be directed to and would do well to heed the warnings of Psalm 82.Â
Further, I pray that all who are reading this will stand with Abolish Abortion PA in efforts to bring abortion to an immediate end in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Equal justice and equal protection for the preborn, without exception, is needed in Pennsylvania – the innocent blood of the slain preborn cries out to our ever-present, just, and Holy God, and He is not pleased with their ruthless slaughter.Â
Stand and fight for biblical justice. Biblical justice is not another godless heartbeat bill, nor is it ensuring that slaughtered preborn children have a proper burial only after they are delivered to a dreadful death through abortion. God demands that we love our neighbors as ourselves, and if we are to do that properly, we must rescue and defend them. We must not consider the mothers who murder the innocent child in the womb a second victim of that murder when they are, in fact, the perpetrators. No. The mothers deserve to face justice under the full weight of righteous laws, according to Holy Scripture.
The days of weak pro-life laws that only ensure the continued murder of preborn children are over. God demands immediate justice for His precious preborn image bearers and expects immediate obedience to His commands to defend the preborn. Every lukewarm pro-life bill that does not demand God's immediate justice by establishing equal justice and equal protection for the preborn deserves to be spewed out and condemned to the pit of Hell where it belongs.
If mothers and fathers will not take a stand to protect their preborn children, then God's justice demands that the law of the land reflects His and protects them. When the laws of the land do not reflect God's justice, the church must stand up and call upon the lawmakers in every state of the nation to pass laws that reflect God's justice. When the lawmakers refuse to do this, Christ's Church must appeal to God our Creator and theirs to bring the unjust lawmakers and legislators into repentance and submission to His will – should they not, our prayer should be that God swiftly removes them and places God-fearing men in their place.
May God stir our hearts to repentance, obedience, and faithfulness to Him in this fight against the atrocity of abortion in Pennsylvania.
